Background
information about our association
The name of the association is
"Suomen JOE17 purjehtijat". ( until
2001 : Suomen JOE17-liitto)
Activity is nationwide (and some ower the World)
Established 8.12.1974 in Kuopio.
Number of members now approximately 138.
Members age structure: 13 - 72 years old , both
men and women.Average age is 41 years.
Association rules were the same from the
beginning , good as such , but a little too stiff
and partly not suitable for current activities.
So they were modified in 2001 to better meet
current requirements..
Associations activity and objective becomes clear
, when you read the associations
"rules & activities" ( sadly in Finnish only ).
Associations focus has moved lately towards tour-
and excursionsailing , and technical activity.
